San Diego: La Jolla

The La Jolla area consists of approximately 5,718 acres and is located along the Western edge of the north coastal region of the City of San Diego. It is bounded on the north by the University of California, San Diego and a portion of the University community, on the east by Gilman Drive, the University community and Interstate 5, on the south by the community of Pacific Beach and on the west by the Pacific Ocean. La Jolla currently has a population approaching 43,000. The beaches and ocean access make La Jolla a popular tourist destination.
